Hearing Aids That Fit Your Lifestyle
Hearing aids come in a variety of types and styles, but there’s no single “best” hearing aid. The right one for you depends on your hearing test results, your specific hearing loss type, and how you actually live day to day.

Types of Hearing Aids
Behind-the-Ear (BTE)
Sits over the top of your ear with a tube connecting to a custom earpiece. A good fit for moderate to severe hearing loss, easy to insert and remove, and most include wireless capability.
In-the-Ear (ITE)
Available in half-shell and full-shell styles, suited for mild to severe hearing loss, with the benefit of easier volume control and longer battery life than smaller styles.
In-the-Canal (ITC)
Custom-made and largely inconspicuous, available as completely-in-canal (CIC) or invisible-in-canal (IIC) devices. CIC styles sometimes bypass wireless capability to stay small and discreet, while IIC devices are practically invisible.
Receiver-in-Canal (RIC)
Also called receiver-in-the-ear (RITE), with the speaker in the canal and the amplifier behind the ear. Includes wireless capability and works well for moderate to severe hearing loss.
Why Modern Hearing Aids Work Better
Today’s hearing aids are digital, meaning they process and filter sound rather than just amplifying everything the way older analog devices did. That means clearer speech, less background noise, no more annoying feedback, and automatic adjustment as your environment changes. Many current models also use AI to tell the difference between the voice you’re trying to hear and the noise around it, so you get a more natural listening experience without constantly adjusting settings yourself.
Bluetooth & Wireless Features
Most manufacturers now build Bluetooth directly into their hearing aids, letting you connect to your smartphone, tablet, or streaming devices. If your hearing aids don’t have Bluetooth built in, a small streamer accessory can add that capability.
“Wireless” here means your hearing aids can talk to each other, not just that there aren’t visible wires. That opens up things like synchronized volume control between both ears, smarter noise handling, custom environment settings, direct streaming from your TV, independent volume adjustment for each ear, and remote controls.
