Our Team

Independence Hearing is staffed by three doctoral-level audiologists, Kirsten Atwood, Au.D., CCC-A, Brenda Lasky, Au.D., and Norma Rivera Guttman, Au.D., supported by a full-time Audiology Assistant. That means when you visit us, you’re being cared for by a doctor of audiology, not just a hearing aid specialist.

What to Expect at Your Consultation

Our hearing aid consultations are built around education and demonstration of current technology, along with realistic expectations for addressing your hearing loss. We want you to understand your hearing loss and why you’re missing parts of conversations, and what correcting that loss can actually do for you. We’ll also talk about the connection between memory and hearing, since the two are more closely linked than most people realize. We explain the trial and re-training period, our follow-up service, and your warranty in depth, so there are no surprises along the way.
