She completed both her undergraduate degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences, and Master’s of Science degree in Audiology from the University of South Alabama. After more than a decade in the field, she went back to school and, in 2003, earned a Doctor of Audiology degree at the Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Atwood has extensive experience in diagnostic audiology and hearing aid technologies. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association, is a founding member of the American Academy of Audiology, and an active member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology and the Florida Academy of Audiology.

She later continued her education and earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2005 from Arizona School of Health Sciences. Dr. Phillips has thirty years of experience in a variety of clinical settings, including ENT, hospital, and private practice. She has worked with patients from infants to geriatrics in both diagnostic audiology and vestibular/balance testing.  Dr. Phillips understands the negative impact of hearing loss on patients, their families, and significant others, and has extensive knowledge of hearing aid technology and assistive listening devices. Dr. Phillips is a member, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence, from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association and is an active member of the American Academy of Audiology. 

She is licensed to practice audiology in Florida as well as New Jersey. Ellen holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She is an active member in the Florida Academy of Audiology.
